Our Program
Learning Through Play
The educational programs at St Mary’s day care Centre were created with our children’s needs in mind: to mature and develop in a safe yet stimulating environment. Take a look below to learn more about each program.
Our education and care programs are play-based and focus on the collection of information and observation of individual children and small groups of children to identify their emerging interests, abilities and developing areas of skills. This information is documented and analysed to determine program requirements. Programs are then designed and implemented and the learning of individuals and small groups is assessed, along with educator professional reflection, to inform further programming.
The educators’ professional practice in regards to the programs of the centre is based upon that outlined in the legislated, Early Years Learning Framework for Australia: Belonging, Being, Becoming, Australian Government of Australia Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations for the Council of Australian Governments, 2009.
